3rd Annual Art Show Thanks to the Portland Arts tax, we have an amazing art teacher who inspires all of our students to be artists. Here's just a sampling from the 1,000 pieces of art that were displayed. Thank you Mrs. Crawford and all of the volunteers who helped make this event a huge success!
Earth Day Celebration Garden Council and Garden Club teamed up for a fun Earth Day Celebration and work party in the courtyard.

National Poem in Your Pocket Day National Poem in Your Pocket Day is observed each April. This day was created to share the joy that poems bring. The Academy of American Poets took Poem In Your Pocket Day national in 2008. Poem Pockets were filled with favorite poems and were placed in the hallways to share with others.

Library Night at the Hillsdale Library Hayhurst and Odyssey families enjoyed story time, crafting, playing games, and getting library cards at this event hosted by our great local Multnomah County Library in the Hillsdale neighborhood.

Oregon Battle of the Books We had 6 teams that competed in the after school battles. After weeks of practice, reading and battling it was the O Bob Cats who represented Hayhurst at the Regional Battle.
The 21st Annual Hayhurst Multicultural Fair We had food from 20+ local restaurants, entertainment, crafts, the Audubon society, face painting, Henna artists, and booths from around the world. What a fun night!
Google Expeditions Day All 3rd-8th grade students had the opportunity to experience Google's virtual reality classroom platform. What a blast! For more information click here.

Lego Robotics Teams Compete Both Hayhurst Neighborhood School Lego Robotics teams won the "Rising Star" trophy at the regional tournaments. The Trash Talkers also were invited to compete at the FLL Oregon State competition. For more info about the Hayhurst Lego Robotics team click here.
Garden Work Party November Garden Work Party was a huge success as parents and kids pruned, raked, thinned and cleaned up our beloved courtyard.

Community Care Day Hayhurst's 15th annual Community Care Day was a huge success! With over 100 volunteers, we beautified the school grounds, cleaned up the courtyard and prepared the garden for fall planting. Thank you!
